Advantages and disadvantages of common disinfectants such as bleaching powder chlorine dioxide potassium persulfate

    Release date:2018-04-04 11-26-08

    First, bleaching powder:

The main components are calcium hypochlorite, calcium chloride and calcium hydroxide. The active ingredient for disinfection is calcium hypochlorite, and its disinfection is derived from the strong oxidizing properties of hypochlorite. The calcium peroxide contained in the bleaching powder forms a flocculent precipitate in the water, which can adsorb impurities in the water to achieve a water purification effect. Bleaching powder is mostly used for disinfection in clear ponds. The dosage is generally about 20ppm, that is, the water depth of 1 meter is 25 to 30 kilograms per mu.

Advantages: wide range of effects, quick effect; water purification, can be used to improve water quality; lower cost of use.

Disadvantages: poor stability, easy to decompose and break under strong light, high temperature and humid environment; easy to residue after use, release toxic chlorine gas to cause harm to cultured organisms; strong corrosive, if the dosage is unreasonable, it may be on the biological surface and crotch Causes corrosion; poor effect on viruses.

    Second, chlorine dioxide:

The products of chlorine dioxide in aquaculture are generally effervescent tablets, which can be quickly dissolved in water to release high-purity chlorine dioxide gas to achieve disinfection and sterilization.

Advantages: strong bactericidal ability, fast action, dissolve in water within 10 minutes, release chlorine dioxide gas, rapid sterilization; bactericidal ability is not affected by water pH; no residue after use, and no carcinogens Good stability before use and easy to store.

Disadvantages: Chlorine dioxide has strong oxidizing properties, and the volume concentration in air exceeds 10%, which is explosive, but its aqueous solution is very safe.

    Third, potassium persulfate:

The main component of this type of disinfection product is potassium persulfate complex salt, which is a new generation of disinfection products, which has many advantages compared with traditional chlorine preparations.

Advantages: wide range of sterilization, quick effect; degradable harmful substances such as herbicides and algae toxins; residues after degradable chlorine preparations, iodine preparations, etc.; complexation and oxidation of heavy metal ions to form non-toxic stable price State; increase the oxidation-reduction potential of the bottom of the pool, inhibit the reproduction of harmful bacteria; form an oxidized surface layer at the bottom of the pond to block the toxic substances produced by the anaerobic fermentation of organic matter in the sediment to the water body.

Disadvantages: There is a certain algae-killing effect. If it is used improperly, it may cause algae; when it has high requirements in production, it leads to the circulation of some unqualified products on the market. When using it, it should choose the products produced by large manufacturers.

    4. Povidone iodine:

Sustained release of free iodine, destroying the metabolism of bacteria and viruses, and achieving the purpose of sterilization.

Advantages: high efficiency and low toxicity, wide range of sterilization and damage to cultured organisms; long sterilization time, continuous release of free iodine, long-acting effect on water body, complete killing of bacterial viruses in water; due to liquid disinfectant, uniform action In the water body, the aging algae in the water body is treated to keep the water body moist and tender.

Disadvantages: It may cause the water body to be deficient in oxygen. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to oxygenation when using it; it is not possible to use strong reducing substances at the same time; the shrimp body should be used in the shelling period or sub-health state. If the dosage is too large, it may cause damage to the shrimp body.
